In the Beginning  . . .
I am JoyDawn. I have over four decades of working with transformational modalities for powerful personal growth and transformation on all planes: physical, mental, emotional, astral, karmic, and ethereal.  What follows are some highlights of my spiritual  experiences which have graced me with gifts for healing myself and facilitating this sacred space for others.

In the spring of my fourth year, I had my first conscious memory of receiving Divine guidance.  I loved to climb one of the walnut trees on the land on which I grew up. One day, as I was standing in the tree singing "Jacob's Ladder" to God, Jesus came to me.  As a spiritually innocent child who knew God soley through Jesus, I was totally at peace in his presence.  He extended his hand and asked if I would follow him on a journey.  It never occurred to me to ask my parent's permission or to question him or his request. I simply took his hand. I have never left him, and my spiritual family has grown.

The journey he took me on led me through many spiritual transformations and increased my desire to serve.  At the age of 10, I wanted to become a Lutheran missionary/nurse in Cuba, where they were not welcome. When my two-year-old brother cut his knee deeply while playing in the Colorado River. As I held my brother in my arms  in the middle of nowhere for the couple of hours to get to the nearest medical facility, I knew I would never become a nurse.  My brother's pain was too much to bare.  At that tender age, I did not have the wisdom or discernment to know that one does not have to be a nurse or doctor to assist individuals on the path to healing.

By my pre-teen years I had wandered in the orange groves near my home and reveled in the fragrance of the orange and rose blossoms which lined Victoria Avenue.  During these times I contemplated becoming a Catholic to prepare for a life as a nun, but that was not to be my path either.  My desire and passion to serve intensified.  In my mid-twenties I was initiated into Transcendental Meditation and again my life propelled me deeper on my journey.  I was learning the medicine of the west.

In between . .  . .
I continued to take classes on metaphysical thinking and being, including classes in sound therapy.  I knew with sound therapy, an international language, I could assist in prisons and psychiatric hospitals to transform lives.  Then came A Course In Miracles, which I found profoundly disconcerting because it prompted me to look at my life in a completely new way. I felt like I was in a new country where I didn't know the customs or the territory. I was a stranger in a strange land.  Once I became familiar with the unfamiliar --  that is, when I surrendered to the message of the Course by turning all my previous thinking premises upside down and inside out --  my spiritual life accelerated to levels I never knew existed.

In my thirties "New Age" was heating up with Terri Cole-Whittaker, Marianne Williamson, other inspirational speakers and a 12-Step program called Codependence Anonymous (CoDA). At last I had found my calling: I was to be a spiritual speaker.  Soon I wanted to take my work to the next level and I contacted Touch for Health. I was on to something.  By the time I was 40, Touch for Health led me to Reiki and I became a Reiki Master.  I worked for the Reiki Center of Los Angeles with Master Teacher Joyce Morris. It was here where I integrated my desire to serve using touch to facilitate change through Reiki in the Dr. Usui lineage.

Mid life . .  .
The years continued to fly by into my  fifties, all the while I was convinced nothing could be better than Reiki, when I was led to a small town in Colorado, surrounded by the Colorado Rockies and the energy of the north.

Eagles migrated to the Arkansas River which flowed into the end of a two mile dirt road on sacred land on which I was privileged to reside.  Deer, bears, coyotes, wild turkeys, elk, porcupines, skunks, cougars, and black flying squirrels flowed in and through the property. Raucous birds of many species could be heard and seen in every direction.  The Twin Sister Mountains were directly above the property.  My soul soared in the reverence of the Divine and the Reiki energy grew stronger but my physical body rebelled against the harsh weather and I knew my lessons of the north would soon come to an end.  Before they did, however, I received a  Shakiti Pat initiation with Shri Ananda Ma in the Dhyanogi Madhusudandas lineage, in  Boulder, Colorado.  There were far too many  transformations and miracles to share, but  one which stands out was the gift to experience the lessons of the south.

Before the south was to have its way with me I returned to California.  While attending a Crystal Bowl concert by Elivia Melody  I was actually propelled directly to a brochure, among dozens available, featuring Re Hu Tek™.  I was intrigued by the contents yet mystified as to what healing modality it was.  As I was not looking for another method at that time, I returned the brochure and returned to the performance.  After the performance I was literally pulled back to the Re Hu Tek™ brochure. I picked it up and returned home to attempt to make some sense of its  overwhelming draw.  I asked for guidance and waited.

Eventually I e-mailed Allen Burns, co-founder, to inquire what Re Hu Tek™ was and  I set up an appointment to experience it for myself.  My life has forever changed.  While experiencing the energy, I remember saying to myself, 'Well, this is nice, but it is not for me." What I "heard" myself say out loud, however,  was, "Yes, I want to be initiated into Re Hu Tek™." Sometimes our path announces itself in unexpected ways!

That was seven years ago. It was an exponential explosion and fusion of healing on all levels.  My ability to assist others was transformed overnight. IAll energetic work I do is intrinsically filled with this powerful modality.

During a yearlong spiritual sabbatical in Arizona's Sonora Desert, I opened into the soul of the desert, nature, animals, and myself at deeper and deeper levels.  My companions were saguaros, javelina's, coyotes, gila monsters, road runners, kangaroo rats, a grey wolf, cougars, sunsets beyond description, monsoons, and rattlesnakes.  I am sure that it was my connection with rattlesnakes residing on this sacred land and the gifts their energy graced me with that led me to be initiated into the Buddhist tradition by Shri Khenpo Sherab Ozer Rinpoche.

Currently . .  . .
Knowing there is no end to my spiraling personal growth and transformation, I daily read, study, and meditate to facilitate creation of the most potent energetic session  for each individual I work with, class I teach, and sacred ceremony I perform.

In July 2008, I began my walk on the path of the shaman from the ancient ancestors and re-connected on my walk of the sacred path of the shaman with Melecio Chalco/White Eagle.  This initiation was an opening into the space of yet another aspect of the Divine to assist myself and all those called to me on our personal journey.  I have walked this path in the land of the Inca's and now am beginning to recall my commitment and some of the tools for transformation used at that time.

This sacred path of the shaman, in White Eagle's words, " ... is one who helps people in their dealings with the other worlds." These other worlds are the realms above, beyond, and deep within the experience of our lives.  This is  the domain of spiritual, psychic vision and of pure, natural earth energies.  In shamanism, these worlds traditionally represent the upper world of the sky, or spirit levels, and the lower worlds of earth and nature.  Humankind, along with all its symbols and traditions, is the middle world.  Because of their abilities to alter their states of consciousness, the shamans are able to explore these worlds and bring back vision.  The skill of the shaman is the ability to explore these worlds, interpret the contents of their vision for the people and share this vision for all.

In August 2008, I completed Ho'oponopono, a Hawaiian healing energy  passed down from the Huna healers and I am learning ways to intregrate it into my daily life and the energetic sessions.

I have completed a geographic circle, returning to California  in my continuing  pursuit of  life learning lessons. I am able to practice  the medicine of the west in the company of my son, his wife, and three expressions of the Divine, commonly referred to as grandchildren.

I look forward with great anticipation to update you on where and how my new adventures of spiritual growth and transformations unfold.

Your HEART Knows The Way.

Blessings In The Light,  JoyDawn
